A poor close-up |
It's very easy to forget to switch to the macro mode when taking close-ups. |
The most important thing for a successful close-up is to have a clear notion of the photographic range and distance in the macro mode. As you get closer to the subject, the disparity increases between the image that appears in the view-finder and the image that will actually be recorded, so you should use the liquid crystal display for close-ups. |
If you use the built-in flash while taking a close-up of a light-colored subject, the image will be overexposed and the colors will be bleached out. In this case, make maximum use of natural or ambient lighting for best results. Also, use ambient light to take photographs of lustrous objects, such as printed photographs or materials written on white paper. |
